    I've never written a review before but I Hated this book! The girl though sweet allowed herself to be a victim through out! Would not recommend it! A waste of my time! Almost every character did not have the character to truly help this girl in need! Hated it! Will never read this author again! Depressing!

    Well written, very interesting tale of a young woman and her trials in her youth. I found the descriptions of the land and farms to be a lovely addition to this story, and it really helped to give a complete picture of Amy's life. I was so sad over the way she was treated, and at the same time envious of her strength of character. As for Jimmy, I have high hopes that some deadly Australian spider finds its way into his bed. Serves him right. And the wicked stepmother.... I wanted to hold her head under water! I'm off to buy the next book in the series.

    Amazing book, well written, characters are so amazing with depth you either love them with every bit of you or despise them to the point of almost breaking your kindle (or whatever you're on). im on the third book now, the story line has dulled a bit but i cant stop. Highly recommend. Love the 1800's story line.

    Disappointment. No purpose, no plot. Waste of time. All the characters just keep making stupid mistakes while being portrayed as sensible. Contradicting to say the least. Writer does have potential though, if he could offer the reader a story worthy of investing their time.

    Not a light, happy, fun read. But it is a great story, well told, though often very frustrating because you do feel so much for the heroine. But if you enjoy historical fiction it is a great story that pulls you in start to finish!

    What a page turner. Loved the attention to details. Yes bad things happen during this book, but it makes you love the main character more. You applaud the small victories and laugh at some of the scenes. Quick read for me.
