He addresses his many years of alcoholism and drug abuse all while being the lead guy of the greatest thrash metal band. He holds nothing back while telling about his journey into musical greatness and his ultimate sobriety. This just goes to prove everyone has a story, good and bad.     Great insight into the mind and life of a musical ears genius. How cool would it be to hear Beethoven or Motzart's life story in their own words? Well, this is the 20th century version of such a musical talent and legend, complete with tales that will enlighten and horrify. Chugging along like only Megadeth can, you will go cover to cover at neck-breaking speeds and love every second of this truly memorable book!

    I recently have taken a liking to Megadeth and have been collecting their CDs. Knew very little about Dave and thought it looked interesting. Have been a casual fan of Metallica for quite some time, and knew there was history there, but didn't know any details. I'm not a reader at all, and I read this entire book over a 2 day period a little at a time which is blazing fast for me! It really kept me interested being a fan of music, drugs, and sex myself LOL J/K (or am I)? Best of luck on all your future albums, I'll be waiting to hear them all!

    I have been a fan of Dave Mustaine and Megadeth for a long time, since the first few albums, but to hear the story behind it all really captured my attention, so much so I read the entire book in 3 days....even if your not a fan it's still a entertaining book and to at least see his story through his eyes. If you are a Megadeth fan read this book.

    it's a good read ! not just sex drugs and rock and bull,He seems honest about who he is and doesn't hide it, I've read a lot books about musicians they tend to stretch the truth about sex and drugs and recovering. But it's more about his view of how his life has unfolded and pulls no punches. And that's rare now a days,he owes no one!

    An insightful and gripping story about the rock and roll lifestyle that Dave Mustaine lived while playing in Metallica and Megadeth. I found the book to be very interesting honest and straight foreword about how Dave dealt with every adversity That rock stars come in contact with, and how it changed his life. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in an honest and riveting account of the heavy metal lifestyle.
